It's now no longer an open secret, it's out there and anyone interested is free to start calling my sanity into question.

Last night I finally told my PARENTS I'm planning on joining the USAF (Air Force, woo!). Things effectively went as planned- very serious and disapproving lecturing from my father questioning the rational of my desire, but ultimately acknowledging that it is *my* decision as an adult.  My mom  was much more unexpected.  There was no flailing or arguing, just initially quiet denial, and as a I prodded her to talk with me about it (more worried about how she'll take it than anyone), we were able to have a discussion, and when I told her how eager I was for it at the end of our conversation about the possibilities and things I can and will be able to do with my life, she said "I guess I'm actually eager about it for you to- but I'm not going to be excited, I always worry." God, I love my mom.  I'm sure there will still be more to this- further arguments or such as things get more real- as I move through the process.  I shocked them a little, and my father did something oddly similar when I decided to move out back when I was 18... randomly started getting pissed and fighting with me about totally asinine and obscure shit the closer we got to my move date.  We shall see, but there we have it.  Just have to break the news to my beloved in-laws now, and it's pretty much OUT there...

today I weighed myself for the first time in days: 150.5... 5.5 lbs to go.

Some of you may have heard about the <s>book series</s> abomination by <s>author</s> hack Stephanie Meyer and all the wank therein. Well, somebody has gone and developed a much more eloquently written, and far more entertaining (not to mention, LESS CONTRIVED) parody, and has been posting it on eljay.

Awesome parody, let me show you it. The Most Amazing Book Ever

Goes very well with the Growing Up Cullen stuff as well as ALL of the books as recapped by the lovely Cleolinda.

As in DOCTOR WHO!  Just saw an advertisement-  Series 4 of Doctor Who starts here in the US on Sci Fi on Friday April 18th.  So maybe April will be month full of much needed distractions- BSG starts on Friday, and a few weeks later, Doctor Who joins it.  Neat.

Just FYI for my Who-vian friends on both sides of the pond- I have remained spoiler free, with the only exception being casting of three people.  I want to stay that way.

Flogging Molly Friday night was way awesome- dinner at the Cantina on Victorian was great too- yay margaritas and hanging out with Danny.  There was a little lingering nausea from Thursday night still and at one point I looked bad enough that even Dw and Gary seemed to notice but after some water and cooling off a little (and getting away from the cigarette smoke) the rest of the night was fantastic.  Didn't get much sleep before packing my ass off to Boreal for my New Hire Orientation.  It was cold as shit, but seriously great, and I learned a lot on top of getting do so some skiing.  I was out on Saturday night, totally useless and in bed by 10.  Sunday was amazing too-windy but sunny- had a balance clinic first thing with some free runs before taking my first shadow lesson with a father and son which was a lot of fun.  Then I took another shadow lesson with a different instructor at 12 and another new-hire which consisted of 4 kids between 8 and 9.  I have never worked so hard and had so much fun in my life.  I spent nearly half the day skiing backwards, and got lots of fresh air and exercise.  I can't believe I get paid for this.  I'm sore today, but not like hurting, just in a 'heavy work-out' way.
