Hooray! Plans for the weekend: shopping, drinking, sleeping, breakfast, driving, baby holding, driving, drinking, sleeping, lunch, shopping, cooking, laundering, sleeping- FIN! I'm sure some other stuff will happen in between, but you get the gist of it. Russ is off from work today- the bastard. I may cut out early if there's nothing going on, but that's pretty much so I can go shopping. LOL OMG it is so damned dry in my apartment today, it's driving me nuts, I slathered myself in lotion before bed, and I'm feeling all brittle and ick... Oh yea- we saw "The Number 23" the other day- it wasn't awful, I'll say that. There were some good twists in it and a good overall mystery with some intereting artdirection and filming. The ending was the weakest part of the film. It was anti-climactic and felt a little rushed, like it didn't exactly fit with everything else. I love Jim Carrey still, so sue me. Speaking of funny guys going serious, I very much want to see this Don Cheedle/Adam Sandler (wtf?) movie called "Reign Over Me". Cheedles character is a long lost friend of Sandler, a man who has lost everything and comletely shut down since his family was killed in 9/11. I'm a sucker- I know, but I'll give it a shot. I wonder if the world would implode if either of these men ever won Oscars? It would only be worth it if Carrey talked out of his ass for his acceptance speech, or if Sandler had Rob Schneider accept his. Mind-set: awake Tunes: Fallout Boy-Dance Dance |

So like I said- Russ and I went to see "Casino Royale" in the movies last week and I really enjoyed it. I'm actually a big action movie geek, but I have a confession. I've only seen ONE of the Bond Movies in theaters (until now) and I haven't really, watched any but the most recent ones. Yeah, sure, I've seen the others, but is more like "The movies were watched by Becca," and not "Becca watched the movies". If they were on and I was there, they got watched, and if the phone rang or a leaf fluttered by, my attention was drawn away.
Basically I am a sucker for Pierce Brosnan; he is my second favorite Bond (probably third now). When it became certain that he was going to be replaced, Clive Owen was the first and only person that came to my mind. Yes- I'm a Clive Owenist. My original apathy towards the whole series and my disappointment in the choice (Craig, Craig who? Wait, Daniel Craig? The guy from Tomb Raider?! What, why? Oh well...) had me not making any plans to see it. Then a reliable Flist source started talking about. So we went to see it.
Without spoiling yourself you can get a general idea of my opinion of the movie here. Plus, ladies who had this conversation are awesome, and it can give you hillarious insight into the minds of EVERY woman that was around you in the theater. I can't guarantee the comments won't talk about the plot more though- and a personal caveat: I'm a big action geek and a tomboy, so my reaction also had a TON of "OMG! WOO! WOW! OMGWTF! HOLYSHIT! FUCK! OMG WHOA!" etc...

WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! I would have updated much earlier but I was already having trouble textmessaging whille jumping up and down- let's just say I don't think my laptop would appreciate the jostling as much as my phone did. OMG ITALY FUCKING ROCKS! VIVA ITALIA VIVA CALCIO! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! PS Russ rooted for FUCKING FRANCE! argh That's all about the World Cup for four years- let's just say, I had so very much fun watching my team win and win and win and, for AN ENTIRE MONTH, win... Huzzah. Also- I'm going next time, damnit! If not to the Cup itself, I'm going to cheer for my team IN ROME! There have got to be some SLAMMIN' parties there right now... We saw Pirates last night and that was a load of fun, despite the fact that the girl who was there to save seats for our group, saved two, one for herself and one other.... there were 8 of us. Anywho. Very silly movie, unfortunately the sequel curse struck with the trite manipulation of already thin characters ~glares at Kiera Knightley~ and the tedious repetition of formerly clever jokes. I mean, Johnny Depp was spot on, and the movie had intriguing characters and such, but the Matrix-esque two-movies-one-story thing was a little disappointing, and worrisome. Some scenes were stretched longer than need be to play off their sheer silliness. But we shall see what happens in 2007. =) Plan ahead, and pack the Rum. ANyway, we're being terribly lazy as it is right now, watch some stuff about pirates (hmm, wonder why that's on every channel?) and now I'm watching Gladiator (shut up, it's a good movie) and listening to the rain while the parkinglot of our apartment complex floods. Mind-set: Calcio e` vita! Tunes: Russ' "Coneheads" quotes |

YAY VERILY, Sir Geoffery speaks from the great BEYOND!
Saw Narnia today with my father.... Long... Slow...
Basically it was a bit heavy handed, I mean, I couldn't stop my brain from screaming....
"I REFUSE TO ALLOW YOUR SELF RIGHTEOUS CHRISTIAN 'LESSON' TO INTERFERE WITH MY ENJOYMENT OF THE PRETTY!!!!!"
BTW:
best.villain.ever. I mean it! I was genuinely impressed with Tilda Swinton's performance as the white witch and her masterful wielding of two swords, AND an ice staff. Mind-set: cheerful Tunes: House... the TV show |

That was, in fact, NOT all... I have just spilled some Chef Boyardee lasagna on myself... TGIF. Except that I totally am supposed to go wedding dress shopping with mom tonight and after only getting like... 3 hours of semi-consiousness, I'm a little dazed and confused, but non in the funny tight pants wearing way... Speaking of funny tight pants, EVERYONE and their mother needs to see Wet Hot American Summer... It's a highly retrospective piece examining a single day in the life of Jewish kids at summer camp during the 80's... or at least what all those lame ensemble-cast movies wanted us to think a single day in the life of a Jewish kid at summer camp during the 80's was like. I can't believe anyone could watch those movies and willingly suspend their disbelief. Come ON! It may not have been the 80's, and I may not have been Jewish- but I have been to summer camp, and if that's what it was supposed to be like? FUCK! I got robbed. Yeah- I think that made sense. Plus there's Genine Garafalo, David Hyde Pearce, Christopher Meloni, Tina Fey, some other guys... yeah. Big hair, music montages, falling satellites, and short shorts. What more can you ask for?
