Nova Nevadascapes the newest Colorist exhibit from Renoite and native Nevadan artist Dennis Crane begins its installation at Five Star Saloon this Wednesday, August 7th, through August 31st. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THESE BEAUTIFUL WORKS OF ART.

(Also, Dennis is my Godfather, so I'm so damn excited for him, he's been painting and exhibiting for YEARS)

At the beginning of this week my mom called (I had a migraine so my details were very fuzzy) about my sister having to move out because her lease was up before they closed on the house and such and something and something and she and her boyfriend were moving in with me.  I was not *excited* about this idea, but I wasn't like NO! Also, I was totally confused... so when I told my friend Matt this he was like "wtf, seriously, do you run a halfway house or something" because last fall we had Angie living here while she was between houses too.  Turns out my sister and her boyfriend are moving in with the parentals until they can get into the house, but they needed to see if we could help with anything, or storage or whatever, I don't know I had a migraine.   So that's all taken care of.

This morning my mom called to ask a favor of me, "well, actually more of your husband".  I was dubious.  She then asked if we could take on Jenna's red snapping turtle until they get into the house...  In case you don't know, Barley came to live with us because mom wanted to know if we could take care of a homeless rabbit, and Blue (Angie's cat) is 'temporarily' been living with us since she left in February because his other option was being taken to a shelter.  Lava came from the SPCA, Soot was an abandoned kitten from a littler that a friend of mine was fostering, Terra was at the pound because she was an escape artist, and Nova was surrendered because the owners moved and couldn't take her with. 
It's like the Island of Misfit Pets or something here.  When my mom asked, I laughed so hard I cried.  Then she laughed, because I think she knew was I was laughing at.  When I told Matt all he could say was "Way to go Noah."

OMG is hot...  I rode my bike down to sushi and back, and even at nearly 9pm it is stupid hot.  And alas, for some reason I am having asthma right now.  I can haz shower tiemz plzkthnx?   Oh well! Lovely dinner with the Lovely Brown Family (herein out referred to as LBF).  Then I rushed home to meet Russ' bestfriend David and his little girl Kayla (o hai thar favorite godchild!) and help them get packed up in Russ' SUV since he's not using it. To top it all off, I had a job interview this morning to be a part time teller at a Credit Union, and I"m feeling rather optimistic about it all. Yep, despite the totally long nap this afternoon, I now feel as though I've accomplished SOMETHING.  Huzzah!

We were just talking about how much I'd miss my car when I go to school.

And then my cousin calls me: "What the fuck is this message I got from Bridget about you moving to Scotland?"  WTF!  The news about Russ and I getting engaged didn't travel this fast...   Now I've got crazy cousins email, myspacing, and calling me left and right, freaking out that I'm moving away.  Come on people: 1) Current plans are only for 1 year, 2) It's for school, 3) nothing is forever.  It's like when my mom freaked out: "You can't go outside the country, what happens if you get pregnant or have a baby!?"  ~facepalm~
